PT Pow Wow

Hi Everyone,

Wellington born and bred, I moved and settled here in Auckland and the end of 2006 after ten years of working as a chef and travelling playing professional rugby in such far flung outpost such as Japan, Ireland and Italy.

After achieving ‘Granddad’ status in rugby at the grand old age of 33 years, it was time to retire and get a real job like everyone else back home.

I’ve always been interested in all types of sports and staying in shape, especially as I done it for a living for such a long time so it only seemed a natural progression for me to get into personal training and fulfil a dream of working for myself and helping others achieve their goals, which gives me a great job satisfaction.

I completed my NZIHF qualification and worked as a mobile PT, before securing my job here at Genesis Fitness. I feel this is a great place to work due to the facilities, staff, but mostly importantly, the community feel where most people know each other and you’re not just another number. That appeals to me and creates a setting for members to get the most out of their gym experience.

My personal belief with reaching your personal goals with regards to fitness is to have a plan.

Goals: What is your goal? What would you like to achieve?

Pain: What’s bought you here and why?

Barriers: What can stop you from reaching your goals?

Timeframe: When do you want to achieve these goals by?

Having a plan and an end goal can help you to get to where you want to go a lot faster. Creating a habit and a belief that staying healthy is a lifestyle option, that can benefit you in so many ways, both mentally and physically. To me this is one of the most important things in a person’s life.

See you out there,
