We get many different people who come in, all with different needs and preferences, experience and timeframes, that makes every person unique.

Its important to us that we find out what YOU need.
From this process we can make better recommendations on the training goals you are hoping to achieve, but also make sure that you actually get there.
This means a bit of discussion at the beginning to get some details down on paper. This helps get rid of the confused feeling, about how you are going to get to where you want to be.
And if you’re a bit of a gym ninja, no worries, this process is designed to help where there is lack of experience.
If you have a good idea of what you need, or how your training will go, we’ll just pop in some tips if needed.
And remember that we are there if you need us.
What happens on my first time to the gym?
After a nice hello, we’d like to show you around.
You’ll see our cardio area and upstairs gym floor, group fitness areas and our new Reformer Pilates area.
We are in the very modern College Rifles Sports Facility, so we will also show you the benefits you can enjoy from having many different amenities at your disposal.
If time permits, we endeavour to establish some of your training goals early.
Many members have found this to be a beneficial step early to maximize training results in the future.
That’s all in non training attire.
So no need to worry about what you need or what you will look like.
Just come as you are, we will show you around and ask some simple questions, all in a relaxed environment in our assessment area, or on the comfy couch.
Can I try the gym out to see if I like it?
Of course you can!!
We understand that getting familiar with a gym and feeling comfortable is a different process from person to person.
Even after we help assess your training goals, it’s nice to just get a flow of exercising around new equipment and surroundings.
We offer a 5 day trial period, which is a way of genuinely interested people seeing how Genesis Gym can fit into the routine, and sample the goodies.
We find that 5 days is a good period of time to iron out any problems, and familiarise yourself with all that Genesis has to offer.

What if I need more help?
Getting used to training routines are at times a hard task.
In between huffing and puffing, trying out new machines, and worrying if your doing it right, things can get a little ‘confusing’ and sometimes we can just plain forget.
We endeavor to have enough staff throughout the gym, so that if things do become a little sticky, someone can give you a hand.
A gym SOS is common, so if you are worried that you might be doing something incorrectly, just come and ask.
We encourage that our members keep their exercise programming fresh.
We try to contact you in the gym, or via phone and email to see if things are going ok, or if you need click a refresh button.
Optimally every 6-8 weeks is a good time to have another sit down and assessment with us, or even a 15 minute tune up.
We are here to make your training enjoyable, so if there is a hiccup in the system, let us know, and we’ll do our best to fix it.
I find it hard to train by myself
You always train better, when you have someone to train with. Period.
Finding a training partner, or someone who has the same goals and work ethic as you, is easier said than done.
We always achieve our training goals quicker and with more success, when we have a partner to give us that extra push.
Many members look to Personal Trainers to get them to their goals quicker.
Like asking a mechanic to fix your car when things aren’t right, a personal Trainer can also quickly diagnose problems, and quickly offer the solution.
They drive many members to happier training schedules, and more often than not, exceed goal expectations.
If you have tried to drag a friend or family member to the gym in the bid to give a wee boost and not succeeded, maybe chat to a trainer.
You could be surprised at the many ways in which they can help you, which will be money well spent.
